LET'S GET STARTED
Here’s a brief description of how to play disc golf, where to play, and what you need to get started.
How to play:
Disc golf is played just like regular golf, only you use discs instead of a ball and clubs. You start on a tee pad and throw a disc toward the basket. You then walk to where the disc landed and throw toward the basket again from that spot. You continue doing this until you've thrown your disc into the basket. Count your throws and that's your score on the hole. It's that simple!
Where to play:
Most disc golf courses are free and some have 18 holes while others have 9. The best way to find out where you can play is downloading the free UDisc App on your phone. This app will show you all the courses near your location, including maps of each course to help you find your way around.
What you need to play:
You have a few options for buying your first discs. One is to click here and get a starter set which includes a putter, midrange, and driver. This is really all you need to get out and play!
You could also consider visiting our Beginner Disc Collection to look through individual discs that are all great for beginners. Lastly, you could read the Gander Team's Recommendations to help you get started.
