2021 River City Cup

What a weekend.

 

Gander was proud to be the title sponsor for the 24th Annual River City Cup at Rundle Park Disc Golf Course. 160 players from all over Western Canada came out to compete on the 20-hole course layout. From the first hour of registration on Friday, you could feel the buzz and excitementi in the air.

 

On Saturday, the AM's and Pro's played two rounds each in the smoky weather. The final rounds went down on Sunday morning and they did not disappoint. Gander LIVE-streamed the MPO Lead Card and over 250 people tuned in to watch!

 

Gander's own Casey Hanemayer took home the victory, winning by 7 strokes over Gander Ambassador Sean Heidebrecht who hit a clutch putt on the final hole to secure second place. Another Edmonton local, Jeremy Gauthier, shot a hot final round to climb into third place.

 

On the FPO side, Briana Ainsley out of Squamish, BC played incredible all weekend to take home first place by 12 strokes!

 

We can't overstate how much we enjoyed this weekend. Disc golf's ability to bring people together is what makes it so incredible. We are so thankful to have been a part of this weekend and can't wait to go bigger and better next year!
